Once you have properly cleaned and stained your wood or deck it is important to take steps to properly maintain for the future.
Periodic cleaning, sweeping or rinsing with water will keep the wood looking like new!
Here are a few suggestions:
- Keep surface free from dirt and grime with periodic sweeping and rinsing with low-pressure water.
- Do not use any harsh chemicals unless re-staining. You do not want to remove the finish.
- If you would like to use a wood cleaner to clean the dirt and debris, please use one of the cleaners at the bottom of this email. Do not let leaves decompose on wood. They will leave black stains.
- Typically you will not need to re-stain the wood for 18-36 months on horizontal surfaces such as decking and 3-6 years for vertical surfaces such as wood siding and fences.
- When it is time to re-stain, it is important to use the wood cleaner and wood brightener prior to applying a “maintenance” coat of stain.
- We hope you enjoy your properly refinished wood or deck!
