Have about 1,000 sq ft of brick paver. Just power washed and want to lay down a low gloss sealer. I’m a DIY, so would you suggest water or solvent based. How much product would I need. Also have a brick entrance with some brick on vertical surface. Would you advise applying product here as well? Have used your Restore a Deck product with much success. Thanks
Hello, try the Super Seal Matte. You will need 2 pails:
https://www.opwdecks.com/matte-gloss.htm
We would not suggest it for the front bricks.
I need one more gallon to finish the project. How can I order on your site
The Matte only comes in 5-gallon pails.
I have a brand new 400 sq ft patio area with Amatec pavers (spelling ?)
can I seal the pavers so no grass / weeds grow up between the pavers the spaces were filled with a hardening compound
when wet they look great when dry there so so I don’t want a supper shine just a little shine like the wet look
Do I to wait or prep anything to apply
a sealer.
thanks
ken
Try this sealer for a wet look with satin shine: https://www.opwdecks.com/matte-gloss.htm
Make sure to surface is clean and dry. Make sure if you used polymeric sand that you do not have a poly sand haze on top of the pavers as that will turn white under the sealer.
I sealed a concrete patios two weeks ago, the joints are still tacky and collecting dirt. Any insight as to why they are still tacky?
Did you use one of our sealers? we are not seeing an order from you.
I just want to say whoever answers all these questions is AWESOME ?!
People asking the same questions over and over and you patiently respectfully kindly answering!! Thank you!!
it will last about the same.
Thank you! Do you think SB-600 is better for concrete pavers around a salt water pool?
About the same a the SS25 or SS30 when it comes to durability.
My patio is travertine tiles and was previously sealed with SB-1300. I am ready to reseal since it is no longer beading. Is this still the best option to seal and stabilize the sand between the tiles?
Yes, that is correct.
Pavers/sealer
i sealed my paver patio and ran out of SS30. Waited for shipment and sealed where I left off. Now I have a line that won’t didssipate. Is there anyway to fix it. Thank you
Sorry, but there is not a way to remove an overlap line so it blends. It will go away over time.
I have 3 different paver areas (3years old, 2 years old, 1 year old respectively), all areas are Unilock BeaconHill Flagstone Pavers. None of the areas currently have had a sealer applied. What would you recommend as a process to seal? Should i use a powerwasher, then cleaning product, then use a solvent based sealer??
If so what products do you recommend. Currently thinking the SureClean and SuperSeal25 sealer…
If just dirt, then pressure wash clean. Only use a cleaner if you have grease, oil, etc.
Super seal 25 is our top selling option.
I sealed my pool deck and lanai pavers 3 years ago with a water based sealer. I would like to reseal them and hopefully get some color enhancement. What do you recommend?
Look at using this: https://www.opwdecks.com/wet-look-no-gloss.htm
My pavers get too hot in Las Vegas. Will glazing them help reduce the temperature of the pavers?
No, it is not possible to reduce the temperature from hot sun.
Thank you!
Professional sealed my clay bricks. They stayed sticky and stained muddy gray. He tried power washing to no avail. What can I do without ruining these bricks?
You will have to remove it. Send some pictures and what type of sealer did they use?
I just bought some of your Clemons Concrete Concrete and Paver Sealer Stripper.
I want to do the job on my driverway in small sprints over a period of days. I noticed there is a opening on the top of the can. Do I open this open, poor some out, and then close it? Will I be able to seal the can back up if I do this? How do I use small amounts at a time and keep the stripper fresh in the can? I am doing this myself.
Rob
Open and pour out as needed. it would not go bad for many weeks after being opened.
Found this on the internet :If it was a water-based sealer, then you can safely reseal using either a solvent-based or water-based sealer. If a solvent-based sealer was originally used, you’ll want to reseal using a solvent-based sealer.
So wondering since SB 600 is solvent based can I apply it over a water based silane/siloxane resin sealer?
No, and the info you read is incorrect. Has to be the same base.
We applied a water based high gloss paver sealant to our patio two weeks ago. The high gloss is not the look we hoped for, lacks definition. We are wondering if we can add another application of a water based wet sealant product?
Sorry but no, that will not work.
We applied paver sealer to patio pavers early this morning. 12 hours later they are still tacky. Do we need to wait to apply a second coat?
We would wait and you may not need a second coat.
I am looking for the best breathable sealer for a newly installed SW Florida pavered pool deck. Looking for a non-yellowing/ non- whiting, can be cleaned and reapplied without stripping when time comes to re-seal, best for full sun and hot temperatures, and non slippery.
https://www.opwdecks.com/wet-look-no-gloss.htm
I am looking to use SB 7700 sealer and there is a chance of rain within 12 hours of the application, will this was sealer away or what other issues may we have if we do not give it the recommended 24 hour wait time for rain? Lou-
12 hours should be okay.
I did not order enough of the supreme shield SB 600. Can I change brand names as long as it’s the same look without a noticeable difference.
Thank you for your response
No, needs to be the same.
We had our pavers cleaned and sealed in 90 degree weather and rained after 24 hours and has rained everyday for a while then it becomes sunny ,hot and humid. They are still sticky after a week. Is this normal?
No, that is not normal but the rain did not cause this. More likely over application of the sealer.
Or can I use SB-6000 for both the bluestone and the clay pavers?
No. As we mentioned, wet looks sealers will not work on your surface types.
Hello,
I called the store this morning. Could you make recommendations for these two applications?
Bluestone patio; Would like sealer that would bring out the blue (like when it rains). I do not need a super glossy surface, a sheen or satin would be nice.
Red clay pavers; set on a concrete bed with loose sand grouting. I would like a sealer that again would perhaps bring out the red (like when it rains) and slight sheen.
Thank you for your assistance! I would like to order as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Melissa
Wet look sealers will not work well on natural stone as the sealer may dry blotchy or uneven. Same with the clay pavers, it will not work.
What is your first choice then for bluestone? and for clay pavers? I will go with those. Thank you for your advice.
Melissa
You will need a sealer that does not change or enhance the appearance: https://www.opwdecks.com/m-non-gloss.htm
You cannot use the sb-6000 for clay pavers. Dries blotchy.
Ok, so Supersealer-M for bluestone and SB-6000 for clay bricks. Did I get that right?
I need to add that I have clay pavers I believe. Melissa
My contractors sealed our backyard pavers using the high gloss glaze n seal lacquer (not water based).
It’s been a week, no humidity, direct sunlight , temps of 82 deg avg (in California) and the surface still has a stickiness to it.
I’m assuming this means that it hasn’t cured yet because the coat was heavily over applied. Is there any way to speed up the process?
Can I power wash these pavers to remove some of the lacquer? Or do I need to strip it?
No, you cannot speed up the process. Hopefully, it cures. if not you will need to strip all and start over.
Thanks for getting back to me!
What product/procedure do you recommend for stripping the pavers?
Is it big job/messy?
https://www.opwdecks.com/paver-sealer-stripper.htm
I have brand new pavers that I want to seal. I like the look as is, wet they change colors and I prefer closest to natural color as possible. Also if possible joint sealer to keep sand and dirt out.
have second area that is much older and color faded off. What can be used to restor some color and seal? Joint sealer also if posisble
thanks!!
For the area without the wet look, try this: https://www.opwdecks.com/sb-joint-stabilizing-sealer.htm
For the area to restore color and seal, try this: https://www.opwdecks.com/wet-look-no-gloss.htm
It looks like it didnt post my picture again. Ill try again
Hi. I live in PA and need some help on selecting a product. Below is a photo of my patio which was after it rained so it is wet but when dry is very gray/faded. I would like to bring it back to life. Maybe bring some color an gloss or wet look? What product would you reccomend and what would be the process?
Thanks
No picture.
sorry about that
Picture
Look at this: https://www.opwdecks.com/wet-look-no-gloss.htm
So should I pressure wash it then sand it then put this stuff down with a sprayer? Thanks for your help!
Yes
Finished staining the brick pavers. Very happy with the results.

I need to know which product is best for the South Florida climate. I have used your solvent based products in the past With little success. Thanks
Try the Super Seal 30.
I mistakenly used elatomeric sand then sealed with SB 8700. It dried for about 12 hours and rained. This section turned white. Do I need to strip or does it need to be resealed?
That is an issue with the sand as the SB-1300 does not turn white. You would have to remove the sand and we are not sure how to do that.
I just ordered 10 gals of SB 8700 to finish. Should I switch to the order to SB 1300?
I have brick pavers that are about 14 years ago and in good shape, but we have a huge problem with weeds and moss. I want to clean it, fill in the sand joints, and then seal the bricks with joint hardening. I don’t want a huge gloss, but prefer more protection and weed control.
A sealer will not 100% stop weeds, just an FYI. Try Surebond SB-1300
what is the best sealer for brick paver around swimming pools? should be anti-slip.
Try this: SupremeSeal SB-600
I have a paver walkway and patio installed 3 months ago. The contractor used polymetric sand for the joints. I would like for the pavers to look wet but not shiny. What is the difference between the SuperSeal25 Matte and the SupremeSeal SB-600 and why choose one over the other?
Thanks,
greg
My son dropped some paint on about 30 of our pavers and then used graffiti cleaner to try and get rid of it….BUT now those individual pavers he scrubbed have turned white. I’m guessing the sealer failed? Pics included. Is the only way to correct this is to strip the old sealer off and reseal? Can the individual pavers be done or does the whole patio need to be stripped and sealed??
You would have to strip all and redo.
I have a light colored concrete paver deck surrounding a pool. Do any of the sealers make the brick slippery – are there any I should avoid? Which lasts longer–solvent or water sealers?
Use this product: https://www.opwdecks.com/wet-look-no-gloss.htm
how long after sealing pavers is it ok to rain on them?
4-8 hours.
I used Eagle Gloss coat on my 500 sq’ paver patio 2 years ago. Apparently I did not apply enough because the parts most exposed to the sun are well faded. Will your SuperSeal 25 or 30 work on another solvent based product. Also, is it slippery when wet? Do you recommend and carry polymer sand or regular fine beach sand?
Thanks
We do not carry or ship sand as it is not cost effective. Ploy sand does help with preventing sand loss. As for applying the SS 25 or 30 over the Eagle, you should be fine as long as that product has not turned white or discolored. It is typically not slippery when wet but if you have a build up of coatings through the years, you could have some issues.
I put luster seal 350 on it turned all white says its non yellowing Is super seal 30 a better sealer
Yes, but you will have to fully remove the Luster Seal first. Adding SS30 on top of the Lustr Sel will not fix the problem.
sealed the driveway, waited 3 days then drove on it and have dark tire tracks. One week and 2 days out and the surface still feels tacky What could of happen??
Over applicated and it has not cured fully yet.
How long can unused paver sealant be stored
1-3 years but depends on if opened and it needs to be stored in a temperature controlled room.
Do you recommend a sand that should be used with your paver sealers?
Any jointing paver sand will work. Make sure it is dry, not wet when you sweep it in.
I live in Vero Beach , Fl. I have brick paver driveway that needs to be sealed. I would like a semigloss finish. What product would you suggest .
You would want the Super Seal 25. it is our most popular paver sealer. One 5-gallon pail covers 500 sq feet. Just one coat is needed: https://www.opwdecks.com/superseal25-semi-gloss-5-gallon.htm
What is the difference between super sealer 25 and super sealer 30. I have ordered your stripper and if it looks good, I will buy the super sealer but don’t know which one to get.
The SS30 is slightly shinier than the SS25.
I have a newly installed, never sealed, brick paver porch. I want a sealer with wet look, (no shine), matte finish and ordered SupremeShield SB 600. Is this the right product ? I understand it will appear a darker color. Thank you so much!
Yes, this would be the correct product.
I have clay brick patios and walkways. I get a lot of moss / algae growing in shady areas. Will sealing help this? What sealer should I use? How long should I expect it to last?
thanks
ken
Sorry but a sealer does not stop moss from growing on top of the bricks.
I am stripping sidewalk pavers using your SuperStripper, cleaner and degreaser. I plan on resealing using Supreme Shield SB-600. How can I be assured they won’t turn milky white again?
The SB-600 is breathable and does not discolor by turning white. White haze though can happen for many different reasons that are not related to a sealer. Examples: Poly Sand Haze, efflorescence salts, etc.
I successfully applied Defy Paver Sealer to my concrete paver patio in Boise, Idaho. I applied two coats at about the recommended rate. 99% of the area looks great. However, there are a few blotches about the size of my hand/palm that resulted from the sealant pooling and drying with a different characteristic. Is there a way to selectively remove the sealant and reapply such that it removes the blotch and blends with the good areas? How do I remove the sealant? Any precautions?
Sorry, but no, it is not possible to spot remove and or make it blend with a touch-up.
I have a brick patio that has never been sealed. Tree sap is a problem. What would be the best sealant to use? I am wanting a “wet look” but more interested in a sealant that would last longer than a year or two.
Hello, try the Super Seal 25 paver sealer for this.
https://www.opwdecks.com/25-semi-gloss.htm
I am building a 600 sqft paver patio in Boise Idaho. I would prefer the wet look and a sheen such that it does not get slippery. I was thinking a matte or satin, but semi-gloss or gloss would be fine so long as it is not slippery. Ants and weeds will be a problem, so the joint stabilization is important. I am wondering about the merits between the Super Seal 25 Matte and the Defy..one is solvent based, the other is water based. Which will withstand UV longer? Also, once I go with a solvent or water based sealer, can you confirm that future maintenance would require the same sealer to be applied? Thank you.
Both of these brands will last about the same and can be cleaned and reapplied as needed down the road.
Sealed 3 months ago with water base sealer semi gloss, can I now use Super seal ? number to seal to a higher gloss?
What brand and can you post a picture?
I have and old chipped and dirty Brick paver commercial heavily used walkway. 1. Is it a good idea to seal it with HIGH GLOSS sealer?. 2. Will it be SLIPPERY dry or wet with rain? 3. Can you recommend
which brand and type to use? Thank you.
It has to be cleaned first. Once cleaned you can use the Super Seal 30 Sealer. It should not be slippery once fully cured in 1-2 weeks.
